Spanish police arrest suspects in child abuse, theft and assault cases

The Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional carried out a series of arrests across Spain. Two suspects were detained in the Valencia region after a forensic investigation uncovered more than 10,000 files of child sexual abuse material, including extremely violent content. In Murcia, a man was arrested for defrauding a foreign woman in irregular immigration status, taking €5,000 under false promises of a residency permit.

Separate operations targeted property crimes: two men were arrested in Ciudad Real for stealing copper wiring and electric batteries from farms in Tomelloso, Socuéllamos and Campo de Criptana, and another pair were linked to the theft of 1,000 kg of garlic near Peñafiel, Valladolid. In the town of Los Realejos, a 22‑year‑old was captured after two armed robberies of local shops.

Violent street incidents also led to detentions. In Tudela, police detained four people after a video‑recorded brawl involving pepper‑spray and a severe beating; earlier a similar pepper‑spray confrontation left an 18‑year‑old injured. In Almería, authorities arrested a fugitive wanted by French police for a murder tied to a drug‑related feud. Finally, in Madrid’s Barajas district, an illegal Angolan immigrant was seized after attempting sexual assault and exhibitionism against two women.

All detainees have been placed under judicial custody pending further investigation.
