Spanish authorities investigate animal cruelty incidents in Toledo and Andalusia

In the province of Toledo, civil guard agents detained a man suspected of killing five dogs with a shotgun on a farm in La Sagra. Investigators uncovered four buried canine remains and a skull bearing shotgun pellets, identified the animals – two German Shepherds, two Siberian Huskies and a mixed‑breed – through microchips, and seized multiple firearms and a pistol linked to the suspect.

In a separate case in southern Spain, the civil guard probed two men, aged 25 and 28, for illegally transporting a ball python and a California kingsnake via parcel from Granada to Alicante. The reptiles, classified as protected and prohibited species, were seized, placed in a quarantine centre and handed over to judicial authorities for further action.
