Spanish authorities investigate PSOE accounting and dismantle illegal workshops
The Civil Guard's Central Operating Unit (UCO) has identified discrepancies in the accounting records of the PSOE political party. During an investigation into alleged irregular financing, agents cross-referencing data from the Court of Auditors and the party discovered missing expense invoices in documentation submitted to the National Court. Additionally, investigators found certain invoices to be “ininteligibles” (unintelligible), casting doubt on their veracity.
The investigation, overseen by Magistrate Ismael Moreno, follows orders for the party to provide records of cash payments made between 2017 and 2024. This follows previous judicial scrutiny regarding cash management at the party's headquarters.
In a separate incident, Seprona agents of the Civil Guard dismantled two clandestine workshops located on a rural estate in Coín. The facilities included a mechanical workshop and a body and paint shop. Authorities found various vehicles, machinery, and tools, as well as hazardous waste such as used oils, filters, tires, and solvents. The operators lacked the necessary administrative and environmental licenses and were not registered as self-employed workers.
