Spanish authorities promote agricultural insurance subscription

The agricultural insurance contracting season has begun in Spain, with efforts underway to protect farms from potential losses during the current campaign. Agroseguro has initiated information sessions across the country to promote policy subscription.

In Castilla y León, the Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, and Environmental Policy, Joaquín Antonio Pino, announced increased support for agricultural insurance. The regional government is focusing on herbaceous crops and wine grapes, while also considering the reorganization of credits to boost support for winter cereal insurance. Pino indicated that upcoming regional budgets will include a “very substantial” increase in resources dedicated to agricultural insurance to facilitate coverage for farmers and ranchers.
