Spanish bands Les Cruet and Punt de Malura unveil new albums
Les Cruet, the Baix Montseny quartet, released their third studio album after a seven‑year break. The record moves away from the group's early visceral punk toward post‑punk, shoegaze and folk textures. Vocalist Laura Crehuet says she now sings in a calmer, more whispered style, describing the shift as a move from “very strong anger” to “serenity and peace.” Produced by Joan Colomo, the album was recorded over a year and features choral arrangements and atmospheric instrumentation.
Punt de Malura, a traditional Catalan ensemble founded in 1998 by Cristina Boixadera and Jordi Inglada, issued its first studio album, a self‑titled collection that gathers recovered folk melodies and original arrangements. The group emphasizes pure acoustic sound without electronic effects, celebrating three decades of performances across Spain and highlighting the heritage of Catalan music.
