Spanish Beach Rescue Championship in Noja Showcases Club Natació Banyoles and International Medalists

The 2024 Spanish Summer Beach Open Championship for rescue and lifeguarding took place on July 18‑19 in Noja, Cantabria. The event gathered roughly 490 lifeguard athletes, including participants from France, Belgium and Italy, and featured competitions in surf‑swim, rescue‑ski, rescue‑board, sprint, flag and ocean disciplines across junior, youth and absolute categories.

Club Natació Banyoles fielded three swimmers, finishing 22nd out of 44 clubs with 58 points. Marta Colom Escots earned a silver medal in junior surf‑swim and added points with solid sprint and rescue‑board results. Laura Rodríguez Bosch claimed a bronze in junior surf‑swim, while Blanca Freixas Torrent contributed placements in surf‑swim and ocean events.

Top individual performers across the championship included Elise Daudignon, who captured a triple‑gold sweep in the absolute women’s rescue‑ski, rescue‑board and oceanwoman events, and Juan Caballero Fuset, who repeated a triple‑gold feat in the junior men’s surf‑swim, rescue‑ski and oceanman contests. Several other lifeguards earned multiple medals, underscoring the high competitive level of the meet.
