Spanish Beach Sport Clubs Shine at National Championships

Seven athletes from Cieza represented the town at the Spanish Beach Handball Championship in Laredo from July 30 to August 2, reaching the quarter‑finals and finishing sixth in the senior women's category. The team, featuring players Claudia Navarro and Sara Marín under coach Eli Ríos, also saw junior competitors advance to the round of 16.

In a separate event, CV Vilassar de Mar earned the silver medal at the Spanish Sub‑19 women's beach volleyball championship held August 2‑4 in La Línea de la Concepción. The Catalan club fell to Net 7 A of the Canary Islands in a close final (12‑21, 23‑21, 14‑16). Both results highlight the strong performance of Spanish beach‑sport clubs this season.
