Spanish breweries win major honors at World Beer Awards 2026

Spanish breweries achieved significant recognition at the World Beer Awards 2026, particularly within the non-alcoholic and lager categories. In the 0.0% alcohol segment, Spanish brands secured the gold, silver, and bronze medals for lager. Notably, La Sagra 0.0 Tostada was named the Gold Country Winner for Spain, a distinction achieved only one year after its launch.

In the alcoholic lager category, Estrella de Levante Reserva 60 was named the world’s best Dortmunder. This special edition, produced by the Murcia-based company to celebrate its 60th anniversary, was recognized for its complex profile and balance of malt and freshness.

The awards highlight a growing trend in the Spanish market, where non-alcoholic beer sales grew by 4.6% in 2025, reaching 3.3 million hectoliters. Non-alcoholic options now account for 14% of all beer consumed in Spain, with the country leading Europe in both production and consumption of alcohol-free varieties.
