Spanish bullfighting and festivals see activity in Colmenar Viejo and Cuéllar
Traditional festivities in Spain saw significant activity on August 30, 2026, including bullfighting in Colmenar Viejo and running of the bulls in Cuéllar.
In Colmenar Viejo, the La Corredera bullring hosted the first bullfight of the Feria in honor of the Virgen de Los Remedios. Toreros Miguel de Pablo and Clemente achieved notable successes, with Miguel de Pablo earning two ears after a determined performance against the fifth bull. Other participants included Román and Clemente, facing bulls from the Manuel Assunçao Coimbra ranch.
In Cuéllar, Segovia, the first 'encierro' (bull run) of the local festivities drew approximately 40,000 people. The event featured six bulls from the Saltillo ranch. While the run through the urban streets was largely controlled, one participant was injured by a bull's horn and transported to a medical facility by ambulance. The run was conducted by 220 riders from various Spanish provinces.
