Spanish business: Syrsa expands automotive reach and Avanqua reports revenue growth
Syrsa, an automotive group based in Seville, has expanded significantly from its origins as a Renault dealership in 1961 to selling 24,000 vehicles annually. Under the leadership of CEO Francisco Galnares García-Añoveros and Executive Chairman Francisco Galnares González de la Madrid, the company has diversified into insurance, management services, and multi-brand used vehicle sales through Driveris. Recent expansions include the acquisition of BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad dealerships across Andalusia, as well as the addition of brands such as Omoda, Jaecoo, Ebro, Changan, Foton, and Lepas. In 2025, the group extended its presence to all eight Andalusian provinces by acquiring Hyundai dealerships in Málaga.
Avanqua, the manager of Valencia’s Oceanogràfic, reported a 3.5% increase in revenue for 2025, reaching 77.3 million euros. Despite this growth, net profit saw a slight decrease from 11.3 million to 10.8 million euros, primarily due to lower financial income. Operating results remained stable at approximately 13.45 million euros. Ticket sales remain the primary revenue driver, contributing 52.4 million euros, followed by catering and merchandising. The company noted that visitor numbers were slightly lower than in 2024 due to the lingering effects of the October 2024 weather catastrophe.
