Spanish cinema highlights include film screenings and new releases

The Más Madera cineclub is resuming its regular schedule with a screening of “Yo no moriré de amor,” directed by Marta Matute. The film, which received three Biznaga awards at the Málaga Festival, follows an 18-year-old named Claudia as she navigates her mother’s illness and the resulting shifts in family dynamics. The screening is scheduled for 20:00 at the Casa de la Cultura.

New cinematic releases for the weekend include “Arriba tutto,” marking José Mota’s directorial debut. This comedy-drama set in 1905 explores themes of hope and memory through the story of Michi, a man seeking to reclaim his lost innocence after a childhood tragedy. Additionally, Albert Pintó’s thriller “Leones en invierno,” starring Luis Zahera, examines the destructive nature of vengeance following a tragic accident involving an undercover police officer.
