Spanish cinema highlights new animation and drama releases
Spanish cinema sees new releases with the fourth installment of the successful animation saga, ‘Tadeo Jones y la Lámpara Maravillosa’. Director and creator Enrique Gato explains that the film introduces themes of fatherhood, focusing on the character Tadeo’s relationship with his daughter, Oli. Gato noted the intensive nature of animation production, stating that an animator may only produce six or seven seconds of footage per week.
In drama, Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s new film ‘El ser querido’ is premiering. Starring Javier Bardem and Victoria Luengo, the film explores universal themes of love and the relationship between a father and daughter. Set during the years of the Spanish Sahara, the story follows an old-school filmmaker and his daughter, a precarious actress, during a film shoot.
