Spanish cities announce poster selections for 2027 Carnivals
The cities of Albacete and Cuenca have announced initiatives regarding the official imagery for their 2027 Carnival celebrations.
In Albacete, Councilor for Culture and Festivities Elena Serrallé presented a proposal for a poster competition. The contest aims to select the official image for the 2027 festivities through a process that combines professional selection with public voting. A single prize of 1,500 euros is offered, and the call is open to both national and international authors.
In Cuenca, the Asociación Amigos del Carnaval de Cuenca has selected local designer and sculptor David Sánchez González to create the 2027 Carnival poster. The festivities are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 13. Sánchez González, an industrial design engineer, will create an image intended to blend local heritage and tradition with the festive spirit of the city. The central figure of the poster is also expected to be developed into a trophy for the celebration.
