Spanish cities finalize Christmas lighting contracts
The cities of Ciudad Real and Cádiz have formalized contracts for their upcoming Christmas lighting displays.
In Ciudad Real, the local government signed a contract worth 213,565 euros with Iluminaciones Jesús Nazareno, S. L. The decoration will feature luminous arches in commercial streets, illuminated trees and palms, and a three-dimensional nativity scene at Puerta de Toledo featuring five life-sized figures. The installation is scheduled to run from December 1, 2026, through January 6, 2027.
In Cádiz, the city has allocated 172,924.73 euros for the installation of ‘Techos Mágicos’ (Magic Ceilings) across three streets in the historic center: Ancha, Novena, and José del Toro. Iluminaciones Ximénez, the company already managing the city's extraordinary lighting, was the sole bidder for the contract. The project will cover 1,560 square meters of ornamental aerial covers designed to transform the visual appearance of the streets.
