Spanish cities host major night running races
Several major night running events are scheduled in Spain. In Águilas, the 42nd edition of the Carrera Nocturna Alcalde de Águilas will take place this Saturday. Organized by the local Sports Department, the event is recognized by the Regional Athletics Federation of Murcia and the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. The race features a 10,000-meter course, with junior categories starting at 6:00 PM and the main event at 9:00 PM. Prizes include trophies, medals, and cash awards for top finishers.
In Seville, the 38th Carrera Nocturna del Guadalquivir KH7 is set for September 25, 2026. Organized by the Municipal Sports Institute, this 8.5-kilometer race is noted as one of the largest in Europe, following a record participation of 25,000 runners last year. The event is designed to be participatory and family-oriented, meaning there are no official classifications or timing systems. Registration is available online until the event date or until capacity is reached.
