Spanish cities Huelva and Soria begin major road resurfacing projects

The municipality of Huelva has started work on its 2026 Asphalt Plan, the largest in the city’s history, with a €2.3 million investment to repave about 50 streets. This week the works focused on the Huerto Paco‑La Morana neighbourhood, including Arqueólogo Garay Anduaga street and San Antonio Avenue, under the supervision of Mayor Pilar Miranda and councilor Mariló Ponce.

In Soria, the city council launched the renovation of Zapatería street in the historic centre, allocating roughly €700,000. Mayor Javier Antón visited the site and outlined a phased approach to minimise disruption for residents and businesses. The project, awarded to a local consortium, will replace the worn pavement and improve the street’s drainage, completing the broader refurbishment of the old town’s road network.
