Spanish Cities Open Cemeteries and Urban Spaces for Public Cultural Events

The Sabadell cemetery in Catalonia launched a new cultural programme that includes public concerts. On 17 July 2026 a gospel concert organised by Torra Serveis Funeraris attracted 100 attendees, offering free tickets that sold out within 24 hours and featuring the choir Cor Iubilo and pianist Emili Tost. The initiative, supported by the Sabadell City Council, aims to present the cemetery as a respectful place of memory while inviting community‑focused cultural activities.

In the Valencian province, the Diputació de València and the Valencia CF Foundation opened a call for municipal applications to join the fifth edition of the V Ruta d’Art Urbà. Municipalities can host four new outdoor murals that celebrate the club’s history and local legends, with the deadline for proposals set for 4 August. The project is intended to boost cultural tourism and local economies across the province.
