Spanish cities Zaragoza and Segovia approve land-use changes for new school and football fields

The Zaragoza City Council approved an initial change of use for a 29,000 m² parcel in the Parque Venecia neighbourhood, converting land earmarked for sport into an educational site. The re‑zoning will enable the construction of the first secondary school in the district, fulfilling a long‑standing local demand and allowing the Government of Aragon to begin drafting the institute's plans.

In Segovia, the municipal government approved a detailed study to rezone land adjacent to the Elena Fortún school in the Nueva Segovia neighbourhood. The change will allow the building of two 7‑a‑side football fields. The council allocated €40,000 for the technical project and, together with other programmes, approved €110,000 in subsidies for local associations and community activities linked to the development.
