Akor Adams completes €16 million move from Sevilla to Venezia

Italian Serie A newcomers Venezia have reached an agreement with Spanish La Liga side Sevilla for the transfer of Nigerian international striker Akor Adams. The deal, reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, is set at €16 million – a €12 million base fee plus €4 million in performance‑related add‑ons – and will become the most expensive signing in Venezia’s history.

Sevilla is eager to sell the 26‑year‑old after a productive 2025‑26 season in which he scored ten league goals and provided four assists, helping the club meet its financial‑fair‑play requirements. The clubs held several meetings in Seville and at the Ramón Sánchez‑Pizjuán, with Venezia sporting director Filippo Antonelli travelling to Spain to finalize personal terms. A Twitter post from journalist Gonzalo Tortosa quoted the clubs: “Sevilla FC avanza en la venta de Akor Adams al Venecia.”

Adams has already passed his medical and is expected to travel to Italy in the coming days to sign a contract that runs until June 2030. The transfer provides Venezia with a proven goal‑scorer as they prepare to fight for Serie A survival, while Sevilla gains crucial funds to rebalance its wage bill.
