Spanish clubs Real Valladolid and Valencia CF report slower season ticket renewals

Real Valladolid's 2026‑27 season‑ticket campaign has reached 5,000 renewals about a week after it started, covering roughly 22 % of last season's supporter base. The pace is notably slower than in previous years, a trend attributed to the club's recent relegation to Segunda División, accumulated fan fatigue from two difficult campaigns, and controversy over the campaign’s initial terms, which forced a rapid correction. The longer renewal window this season—26 days versus 18 days previously—has also reduced urgency among supporters.

Valencia CF announced that its 2026‑27 ticket campaign is expected to close with around 40,000 renewals, virtually unchanged from the previous season. While the club kept the season‑ticket price frozen, the average price sits at about €475, a €15 increase, and match‑day ticket prices may rise up to 15 %. New discount rules cut the combined shareholder‑and‑attendance discount from 20 % to a single higher discount, ending the practice of stacking discounts. No new memberships were opened, as the club considers the 40,000‑member threshold its equilibrium point.

Both clubs' figures reflect a more cautious renewal environment in Spanish football, with adjustments to pricing and discount structures aiming to balance attendance and revenue.
