Spanish coastal regions report high summer tourism occupancy

Tourism sectors in several Spanish coastal regions are reporting high occupancy rates for the summer season, defying previous pessimistic forecasts in some areas.

In the province of Cádiz, actual hotel occupancy for the first half of August reached 91.77%, significantly exceeding the initial 80.36% projection. Specific locations such as Rota (96.60%), Chipiona (96.23%), and Conil de la Frontera (95.92%) have seen near-capacity levels. In Tarifa, occupancy hit 94.77%, surpassing the 81.01% estimate.

Similarly, the Pontevedra region is experiencing near-full occupancy. The Association of Hoteliers of Pontevedra reports high demand, with the Sanxenxo Tourist Entrepreneurs Consortium predicting average occupancy exceeding 90% across hotels, campsites, and apartments. In Poio, July occupancy reached 80%, a 15% increase compared to two years ago. Maritime facilities in Combarro and Sanxenxo are also reporting full capacity for August.
