Spanish community organizations present social recognition awards

Various community and religious organizations in Spain are issuing awards to recognize social commitment and selfless service.

In Cantabria, the Federación Cántabra de Asociaciones de Vecinos (FECAV) will hold an awards ceremony on September 26, 2026, at the Centro Cívico «Meteorológico» in Santander. Recipients include the Cazoña Health Center for community health programs, the Unidad Militar de Emergencias for emergency response, Ernesto Bustio for social development, the Fundación Bruno Alonso for cultural work, and Radio Arco F.M. for its platform for neighborhood associations.

In Jerez, the Orden de la Merced presented the ‘Jerezanos de su Patrona 2026’ award to Beatriz Casado Díaz and Jaime Gutiérrez Bustillo. The couple was recognized for their dedicated work in maintaining the traditions of the Virgen de la Merced and the Mercedarian Novena.
