Spanish community races raise funds for cancer research

Various community sporting events across Spain have raised funds and awareness for cancer research through solidarity marches and races.

In Santa Colomba de Somoza, approximately 500 people participated in the IX Cross de Santa Colomba and a 5.5-kilometer solidarity march. The event, organized by the Club Astorga Running, supported the Spanish Association Against Cancer (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer) delegation in Astorga.

In Xàtiva, more than 2,000 participants joined the XII Carrera y Marcha Solidaria Xàtiva Contra el Cáncer. The event included a 6.5-kilometer competitive race and a 4-kilometer non-competitive march. The initiative raised 10,805 euros, which will be used to fund predoctoral and research scholarships for young investigators in Valencian centers. This contribution adds to a circuit total of 314,568 euros.
