Spanish companies face growth constraints due to geopolitical and economic uncertainty

A report by Beazley, titled ‘Spotlight on Geopolitical and Economic Risk 2026’, indicates that 88% of Spanish business executives believe current geopolitical and economic uncertainty will limit their growth plans. Additionally, 84% of executives agree that shifts in the political landscape affect their ability to operate profitably.

Key areas of concern for Spanish organizations include employee-related risks—such as talent retention, labor costs, and staff wellbeing—which 91% of respondents identified as a priority. Furthermore, 77% of companies expect to modify suppliers or supply chains in response to ongoing geopolitical disruptions, while 69% noted that increasing regulatory complexity is raising business risk levels.

To mitigate these challenges, 43% of Spanish companies are investing to strengthen resilience against risks associated with artificial intelligence, and 39% emphasize the importance of insurance as a tool for risk management and business continuity.
