A central point of contention involves a call from Torrent Mayor Amparo Folgado at approximately 18:00 on the day of the tragedy, warning of an overflowing ravine. Mompó stated he does not remember the call, citing the chaotic emergency situation as a reason for the lapse, though he did not deny it occurred. This testimony follows judicial questioning regarding contradictions in his previous accounts.

Also appearing before the commission was Salomé Pradas, the former Minister of Justice and Interior, whose management of emergency alerts is under investigation. Additionally, José Rodríguez Jurado, the Government Sub-delegate in Valencia, testified that he was bedridden with lower back pain during the event, delegating his duties at the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi) to the General Secretary.
