Basque towns prepare for All Souls Day traditions

Various municipalities in the Basque Country, including Bermeo, Gernika-Lumo, Mutriku, and several towns in the Lea-Artibai region, are organizing activities to observe All Souls Day (Arimen Gaua or Gau Beltza).

These celebrations, which have seen a resurgence in recent years, draw historical roots from the Celtic festival of Samhain. Planned events across the region include music, parades, costume displays, and workshops designed to connect residents with traditional customs and the memory of the deceased.
