Spanish court fines man for attempted AirPods fraud in Vigo
The Provincial Court of Pontevedra has upheld a 120-euro fine against a customer who attempted to commit fraud at an electronics store in Vigo. The incident occurred on December 26, 2025, at a shopping center in the city.
According to court findings, the individual purchased a pair of AirPods 4 for 169 euros and returned to the store 90 minutes later to request a refund. Upon inspecting the packaging, the store clerk discovered that the headphones had been replaced with a bar of soap.
The court ruled the incident as an attempted minor crime of fraud. The defendant appealed the decision, claiming innocence and suggesting the product may have been mispackaged by the store, but the court rejected these claims based on available evidence.
