Spanish court rules in separate labor and personal injury cases

A court in Oviedo has ordered José Luis S. M., a high-ranking official at the state-owned railway company Adif, to pay 7,501 euros in compensation to an employee. The ruling found that the official violated the worker's fundamental rights to freedom of expression and dignity by retaliating against him. The retaliation involved withdrawing two days of remote work after the employee posted a critique of inadequate training on LinkedIn.

In a separate legal matter, a court in Santiago de Compostela has ordered a dog owner and their insurance company to pay more than 8,000 euros to a woman bitten by a dog in 2023. The victim suffered shoulder and arm injuries that required plastic surgery. The court recognized the right to compensation for physical injuries, recovery time, and aesthetic damage, though the ruling partially dismissed the original claim of 16,000 euros.
