Spanish courts address separate violent crime cases

In Almería, a 30-year-old man faces up to eight years in prison for allegedly extorting and stabbing his former employer. Prosecutors claim the individual, who worked for a painting company in mid-2025, targeted his former boss with repeated death threats via calls and messages following his dismissal. The prosecution is seeking four years for aggravated injury and an additional four years for extortion, requesting a five-and-a-half-year restraining order.

In a separate case in Cenlle, a man identified as Omar M. B. has been sentenced to 15 months of suspended prison time following a series of threats against neighbors. The defendant reportedly used various weapons, including an axe, a pickaxe, a chainsaw, and a pistol, to intimidate local residents and business owners. The incidents included death threats in a local bar and cafe, as well as an instance of indecent exposure. The court also imposed a three-year ban on the defendant approaching the victims or entering the establishment where the threats occurred.
