Andalusia courts issue various criminal rulings

The High Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) and provincial courts in Andalusia have issued several significant rulings involving fraud, extortion, and violence.

In Seville, the TSJA upheld the conviction of two individuals for aggravated fraud and forgery related to a Banco Santander account operation, maintaining sentences of 18 months in prison and an eight-month fine. In a separate case, the Provincial Court of Seville annulled a conviction for a man who pushed a neighbor in a wheelchair, ordering a retrial because the defendant was unable to attend due to illness.

In Granada, the TSJA confirmed a three-year prison sentence for four family members from Pinos Puente for extorting victims through abusive loans linked to gambling. Meanwhile, the Provincial Court of Cádiz overturned a two-year sentence against a woman accused of assaulting a doctor in Jerez, ruling that the incident lacked the necessary violence for the charge.

Other rulings include the TSJA reducing a sentence to five years for a migrant smuggler intercepted near Almería, and ratifying a sentence of over two years for a man in Rota convicted of threats, injuries, and breaching a restraining order.
