Catalonia police dismantle multiple criminal groups and investigate fatal stabbing
Several criminal activities and law enforcement operations have been reported across Catalonia. In Manresa, a 45-year-old gardener named Carles Vilajosana was fatally stabbed. The murder has caused significant local shock, leading the Manresa City Council to declare a day of mourning.
In Beneixama, the Guàrdia Civil dismantled a criminal group responsible for stealing approximately 2.4 kilometers of copper cable from an electrical substation. The operation, named ‘Subcob’, resulted in the arrest of seven men. The stolen material was reportedly traced to a metal recycling center in Alicante.
In the Tarragona region, Mossos d’Esquadra dismantled three marijuana plantations in Montmell and Querol, seizing 1,751 plants. The operation also led to the arrest of three men for crimes including public health offenses and electricity fraud. Additionally, police in Salt arrested two men for vehicle burglaries, while a 52-year-old man was detained in La Móra for stealing electronic devices from a home.
In Lleida, a 50-year-old man was arrested for an armed robbery at a supermarket in the Clot neighborhood, where he used an air pistol to intimidate workers and steal cash.
