Spanish courts sentence men to prison for sexual abuse of minors and women
The Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León upheld a 10‑year prison term for a man convicted of sexually abusing the minor daughter of his former partner. The court also ordered €12,000 in damages, a restraining order preventing him from approaching the victim within one kilometre for 13 years, a prohibition on any work involving minors for 17 years, and a ban on contacting the victim.
In Galicia, the Provincial Court of A Coruña sentenced another man to nine years’ imprisonment for raping a female friend in Noia. The judgment noted that the attacker forced himself on the victim, saying, “no hay vuelta atrás, ya está dentro,” before violently raping her. He was also fined €900, ordered to pay €55,000 in compensation, given seven years of supervised release, and barred from any activity involving regular contact with minors for ten years.
