Manzanares double murder trial begins in Ciudad Real

The Audiencia Provincial de Ciudad Real will begin a jury trial from October 5 to 15 regarding the murders of two businessmen in Manzanares. The primary defendant, Antonio Caba, is accused of killing Jesús María González Borrajo in 2019 and Juan Miguel Isla in 2022, allegedly motivated by financial gain.

Prosecutors claim Caba acted to seize money owed to him or from business transactions. He is accused of working with collaborator Gaspar Rivera to dismember the victims and hide their remains in wells and agricultural pits.

The prosecution is seeking 46 years in prison for Caba, representing 23 years for each murder. For Rivera, the prosecution is requesting 19 years in total, citing a mitigating factor due to his cooperation with authorities in locating the remains.
