Spanish courts to hold trials for attempted murder and homicide cases

The Provincial Court of A Coruña is scheduled to hold two separate criminal trials in early November.

In the first case, a father and son will face trial on November 3 and 4 for the attempted murder of two men in Ferrol. Prosecutors allege that following a dispute on October 31, 2025, the defendants attacked the victims with large machetes. The prosecution further claims one defendant attempted to run over the victims with a van. The Public Prosecutor is seeking 12 years of prison for the father and 14 years for the son.

In a second case, a man will stand trial before a jury from November 2 to 6 for homicide in Mañón. The prosecution alleges that during a roadside dispute in June, the defendant struck a man in the head with a stick. The victim subsequently died from injuries sustained. Prosecutors are requesting an 11-year prison sentence and compensation for the victim's family.
