Spanish courts to trial two separate sexual assault cases involving minors

Two separate sexual assault cases involving minors are heading to trial in Spain.

In Puertollano, the Provincial Court of Ciudad Real will trial a man accused of sexually abusing the daughter and granddaughter of his partner. The prosecution is seeking eleven years in prison, alleging the defendant exploited his position of trust within the family. The incidents reportedly occurred between the summer of 2024 and early 2025, involving a 14-year-old and a second minor born in 2011.

In Vigo, the Provincial Court of Pontevedra will trial a man for the sexual assault of a girl in July 2024. According to the Public Ministry, the defendant performed unsolicited touching on a child walking with friends. The case also involves charges of assault on authority, as the defendant allegedly injured police officers with punches and kicks while they attempted to identify him. The prosecution is requesting a sentence of two and a half years in prison and 1,000 euros in compensation for the victim.
