Spanish culinary awards recognize excellence in Granada and Asturias

The Sabor Granada 2026 awards were presented at the Teatro CajaGranada during the ‘Cocinando Enclave 2026’ event. The distinctions recognize excellence in the agri-food, tourism, and gastronomic sectors of the Granada province. Key recipients include Ron Montero, who received an Honorary Distinction, the Hotel Palacio de Santa Paula as the Hotel Establishment of the Year, Restaurante Faralá as the Restaurant of the Year, and Mielería La Duquesa for Product of the Year. Eight additional entities received Premium Sabor Granada 2026 distinctions.

In a separate culinary honor, researcher Olaya de Dios Huerta was awarded the ‘Jamón Plata Negra Grande Covián 2026’ prize by the Fundación Grande Covián. The award, presented during an international Iberian ham competition, recognizes Huerta’s professional contributions as a neuro-oncology researcher at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III. The ceremony honors the legacy of researcher Francisco Grande Covián.
