Spanish cyclist Iván Romeo eyes Vuelta a España after Tour de Poland test

Iván Romeo, a 27‑year‑old rider for the Movistar Team, missed the Critérium du Dauphiné, the Spanish National Championships and the Tour de France after a prolonged flu that forced him out of competition for six weeks. After completing a recovery period and several weeks of training, he will race the Tour de Poland on 3 August. The WorldTour event is intended as a fitness test ahead of the Vuelta a España, which starts on 22 August.

Romeo hopes that the Polish race will prove his legs have returned to full strength and that his performance will earn him a place in Movistar’s Vuelta squad.
