Spanish cyclists win European MTB Downhill titles in Bulgaria

Spanish cyclists achieved significant success at the UEC MTB Downhill European Championships held at Vitosha Mountain in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Juan Francisco López won the European title in the MSTAR 55-59 M category. After securing the second-best time in qualifying, López delivered a decisive final run with a time of 5:01.73 to secure the gold medal. José Manuel Pascual Cuervo also earned a podium finish for Spain, taking second place in the M50-54M category.

In the junior category, Enol Torre claimed the European championship title. After qualifying in second place, Torre completed the final run in 3:29.21, finishing ahead of Italy’s Filippo Gilardino and the Czech Republic’s Stanislav Mlcák. This victory positions Torre as a contender for the upcoming World Championships in Val di Sole.
