Spanish cyclists Benjamín Noval and Alejandra Neira secured gold medals in the junior time trial events at the European Cycling Championships in Slovenia.

Benjamín Noval won the men’s junior time trial with a time of 29:46.98, narrowly defeating Denmark’s Malthe Risbjerg by just three hundredths of a second. Belgium’s Vic de Smet took third place. This victory marks the first time a Spanish rider has won a junior men’s time trial medal at the European Championships.

In the women’s junior category, Alejandra Neira claimed the title with a time of 35:45, finishing three seconds ahead of Belgium’s Laura Five. Lithuania’s Auguste Mikutyte took third. Neira’s victory follows her recent world junior road race championship, completing a significant double of international titles before she joins the Movistar Team.
