Spanish energy stocks Naturgy and Endesa decline in Madrid
Spanish energy companies experienced mixed performance on the Madrid stock exchange on September 25, 2026. Naturgy saw its shares close at 29.10 euros, a decline of 1.36 percent. The downward movement was attributed to market pressures including tensions in the Middle East and oil prices exceeding 106 US dollars per barrel.
In contrast, Endesa closed slightly lower at 42.18 euros, representing a marginal decrease of 0.12 percent. While the broader DAX index saw gains, Endesa underperformed relative to the German benchmark. The energy sector's performance was influenced by varying macroeconomic factors, including shifting oil price trends and analyst outlooks on European electricity prices.
