Spain law enforcement conducts multiple operations against theft and fraud
Law enforcement agencies in Spain have conducted several operations targeting various criminal activities. In Andalusia, the Guardia Civil arrested three individuals for a series of mobile phone thefts in Seville and Córdoba, involving high-end devices valued at over €29,000. The suspects reportedly posed as customers before violently seizing phones from security systems.
Other significant criminal investigations include an olive sector fraud in Huelva and Seville, where an entrepreneur allegedly defrauded 258 farmers of €1.7 million by reselling harvests without paying the producers. In Madrid, a network of 22 people was identified for submitting fraudulent baggage loss claims at Madrid-Barajas Airport, totaling over €90,000 in illicit compensation.
Additional arrests were made for forest arson in the Sierras de Cazorla, copper cable theft from railway lines in Huesca, and organized residential burglaries in the Aljarafe region. Local police also reported a violent assault in Cuenca and a robbery in Granada where a stolen phone's geolocation led to the suspect's arrest.
