Spanish EPR systems announce 2027 packaging management rates

Several Spanish Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems have announced updated fee structures and operational models for 2027, driven by the need to comply with the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Sigfito has announced a reduction in its 2027 rates for various materials. Key adjustments include a decrease in paper and cardboard costs from 0.2200 €/kg to 0.2100 €/kg, and a significant drop in wood management costs from 0.0946 €/kg to 0.0300 €/kg. The system is also introducing new bonuses to incentivize ecodesign and the use of reusable packaging.

IMPLICA has approved its 2027 budgets, membership fees, and waste treatment incentives. The organization is adjusting its model to link producer contributions to the actual cost of waste management while maintaining ecomodulation to favor reusable packaging.

Envalora is also implementing new 2027 rates that include reductions of up to 60% in specific categories, such as pallets and certain industrial plastics. Its strategy focuses on competitiveness and adaptation to the upcoming European regulatory framework.
