Spanish ESA astronaut candidates observe solar eclipse in Yebes
Spanish astronaut candidates Sara García Alonso and Pablo Álvarez Fernández observed a solar eclipse at the Yebes Astronomical Observatory. Both expressed deep emotional reactions to the event.
Pablo Álvarez Fernández, an aeronautical engineer and member of the 2022 European Space Agency astronaut class, noted that the experience exceeded his expectations. Sara García Alonso, a molecular biologist and ESA astronaut candidate, described the event as the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
