Spanish farmers to hold tractor protest in Madrid on October 28

Agricultural organizations ASAJA, COAG, Unión de Uniones, and UAGN have announced a joint tractor protest scheduled for October 28 in Madrid. The demonstration will conclude in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Under the slogan ‘We produce your food, we deserve to live from our work’, the sector is demanding urgent measures to address rising production costs, including fuel, fertilizers, livestock feed, and electricity. Protesters argue that current product prices do not compensate for these expenses, threatening the viability of farming operations.

The organizations have outlined several key demands, including the immediate implementation of a shock plan for agricultural diesel with reduced and stable taxation. They are also calling for a well-funded Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to protect farmer incomes and seeking an end to unfair competition.
