Spanish Festivals Gather Hundreds in Cadiz and Avilés
The traditional summer "Velada del verano de los Reyes Magos" took place on Cadiz’s La Caleta beach, bringing together almost 300 attendees, including local residents and visitors. The event, organized by the Baluarte de los Mártires association, featured a welcome drink, dinner by catering El Faro, live music from the group Aquel 20 de Abril and DJ Ross, and concluded after midnight. All proceeds are earmarked for the "Children Without Toys" campaign.
In Miranda, a district of Avilés, the annual giant paella festival was held, serving about 1,400 portions. The tradition, started over fifty years ago by María Jesús Felipe, involves a crane‑lifted paellera and a team of volunteers preparing the rice with local longaniza. Performances by Duo Reflejos and M3 Show accompanied the feast, and participants praised the event as an authentic, family‑focused celebration.
