Spanish flour and semolina sector signs new labor agreement
Labor unions CCOO de Industria and UGT FICA, along with the Asociación de Fabricantes de Harinas y Sémolas de España (Afhse), have signed a definitive collective bargaining agreement for the flour and semolina sector covering 2026–2029.
The agreement, which affects approximately 2,700 workers, establishes a 4% wage increase for 2026. For the subsequent years, wages will rise by the previous year’s real IPC (Consumer Price Index) plus an additional 0.5%. Additionally, the contract includes a reduction of 16 hours in the annual working day.
Other provisions include new disability assistance, increased collective accident insurance, and a bonus for employees when companies do not handle clothing laundering. The agreement also introduces improved leave policies and protocols regarding LGTBI rights, mobility, and weather-related incidents. Both unions have requested that companies pay 2026 arrears immediately without waiting for official publication in the BOE.
