Spanish football clubs increasingly rely on foreign managers

Despite the global success of Spanish football and its coaches, major clubs in Spain are increasingly looking abroad for leadership. While Spanish managers like Luis de la Fuente, Luis Enrique, and Mikel Arteta have achieved significant success in international and top-tier European leagues, Spain's most prominent clubs are currently led by non-Spanish coaches.

Major clubs participating in the Champions League, such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Real Betis, and Real Sociedad, do not currently have Spanish managers at the helm. Villarreal is noted as a rare exception with Íñigo Pérez leading the team.
