Spanish football clubs record season‑ticket sales amid price hikes

RCD Mallorca announced that its season‑ticket campaign for 2026/27 has reached 19,552 subscribers, a historic record for the club while playing in the Segunda División. The figure surpasses the previous second‑division high of 13,000 and makes the current campaign the fourth‑largest in the club’s overall history, despite a drop of more than 3,000 tickets after relegation and a modest 20 % reduction in ticket prices.

Deportivo de La Coruña opened its 2026/27 season‑ticket sales on 8 July with a new price structure that raises average fees by about 41 % and, in some sections, by up to 68 %. The cheapest ticket is €320, while the most expensive reaches €880. The steep increases triggered protests from fan groups, especially those in the Marathón Inferior stand, leading the club to partially revert to an online renewal process and to begin negotiations with the Federación de Peñas.

Both clubs highlighted the importance of the season‑ticket programmes for revenue and fan engagement, while also facing criticism over pricing policies and the perceived disconnect between club management and long‑time supporters.
