Cádiz CF and Celta Fortuna draw 0-0 in Segunda División opener

Cádiz CF and Celta Fortuna played to a 0-0 draw in their opening match of the Segunda División season at the JP Financial Estadio. The match marked the professional debut for Celta Fortuna and the official managerial debut for Cádiz's Albert Celades, who took over just days before the start of the competition.

Cádiz controlled much of the early play, utilizing speed on the right flank, but failed to convert their chances. Celta Fortuna, managed by Fredi Álvarez, showed resilience, improving their positioning in the second half and creating several dangerous opportunities through Ángel Arcos and Aldrine Kibet. Cádiz goalkeeper Jokin Ezkieta was a standout performer, making several decisive saves to maintain the clean sheet.

Beyond the pitch, the match was preceded by administrative developments as Cádiz secured approximately ten million euros to complete player registrations. Additionally, both managers commented on the pitch conditions, with Celades expressing concern that the state of the grass hindered his team's ability to play their preferred style of football.
