Spanish football supporter groups celebrate major anniversaries

Supporter groups for major Spanish football clubs RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona recently held significant anniversary celebrations in Catalonia.

La Penya Juvenil Espanyolista 1991 marked its 35th anniversary with a commemorative event attended by approximately 200 people. The gathering included club officials, former president Joan Collet, and members of the Espanyol Foundation. The event featured a colloquium reviewing the group's history and the presentation of a historical flag from Sarrià.

In Blanes, La Penya Barcelonista de Blanes celebrated its 50th anniversary with a gala dinner attended by 150 guests. The event was led by Blanes Mayor Jordi Hernández and FC Barcelona Vice President Antoni Escudero. Although FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta could not attend in person, he provided a recorded message. The celebration also featured former players and a demonstration by the Harpastvm Legio XI Roma group, which performs ancient Roman ball games.
